As you may know, California Proposition 65, known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, became a state law in 1986. This Act sets out environmental regulations regarding toxic chemical substances that businesses are subject to when they sell merchandise in the state of California. If a business sells a product in California which contains a substance or substances that are on the Prop 65 list, then a clear and reasonable warning must be provided.
On an annual basis, the list of chemicals covered by Prop 65 is reviewed and amended by the California government.
